"Carioca" is the general name
given to a person born in Rio (Like me !!). The term comes from a
native Brazilian indian tongue and means "A casa do homem branco"
(The white man's house) . "Cari" = homem branco (white man);
"oca"="casa" (house). This book teaches you how
to become a real carioca !!! If you are going to Rio and don't wanna
feel like a tourist then this book is essential to you.... |
Joseph A. Page's view on this huge country:
Brazilian culture, people, politics, religion and , of course, soccer
!!! |
This is the ultimate guide on Rio. Find
here all the useful information you need to get around the "Wonderful
City" as a Carioca... And guess what.. The Lonely Planet is an
Australian company... Highly recommended... |
(DVD) Exceptional performance by Brazilian
actress Fernanda Montenegro. The film shows the sad reality of Brazil
social misfortunes mixed with the emotional relationship between a
lonely woman and a vagrant boy. Definitely a great movie !!!
